Utah Onions secures supply deal with Carzalia Valley Produce

Syracuse, Utah-based Utah Onions Inc. has reached an agreement with Columbus, N.M.-based Carzalia Valley Produce Inc. to market Carzalia Valley onions.

Utah Onions will now have exclusive rights to sell and market the Carzalia Sweet onion, and the full line of consumer packs, bulk, and cartons in all colors offered by Carzalia Valley Produce during the summer, the companies announced in a news release.

"Looking to the future, we recognized the quality of work Utah Onions is doing in the marketplace and we wanted to be part of an organization that is forward-looking and unique in their approach to servicing the needs of their customers," Carzalia vice president James Johnson said in the release. This joint venture comes at a pivotal time for the companies, according to the release.

"This new partnership will significantly enhance our ability to supply a full line of high-quality onions in support of our already strong national onion program and we are excited about that," said Shawn Hartley, vice president of sales and partner at Utah Onions, in the release.
Carzalia Valley plans to begin harvesting onions on May 15 and will operate until August 10, according to the release.
